This FHIR R4 Implementation Guide defines vendor-neutral profiles, extensions, terminology declarations, and examples for ambulatory practice management in Germany.
| Domain | Contract |
|---|---|
| Medical billing composition | Medical evidence and workflow constraints over the German Billing IG |
| Practice operations | Encounters, appointments, queue state, locations, roles, and service offerings |
| Clinical workflows | Laboratory, imaging, referral, order, medication, immunization, and care-coordination resources |
| Administration | Practice operations, clinical authorization children, consent, and communication |
| Provenance | Bounded compatibility with the HL7 AI Transparency lineage model |
The IG defines exchange structures and bindings. It does not publish customer, product, adapter, contract-catalog, or runtime configuration data.
Generic Account, Coverage, ChargeItem, Claim, prior-authorization, Contract, Invoice, tax, receivable, budget, remuneration, and remittance contracts are owned by the German Billing IG. Praxis profiles may derive from those contracts only to add medical evidence or medical workflow constraints. See the Praxis-to-Billing Migration for predecessor handling.
HZV and other selective-contract catalogs are reference-only terminology. The
public package does not enumerate their codes or displays. Implementations carry
the applicable contract through Coverage, Contract, and the billing-case
context, and use the issuer's coding system for contract-specific services.
An EBM code is used only for a service billed in an EBM context. A mapping between EBM and a contract catalog is a translation aid, not a pricing source.
Use the generated Artifact Index for the complete list of profiles, extensions, CodeSystems, ValueSets, NamingSystems, and examples. The guidance pages in this IG define the current usage contract for selected cross-cutting topics.
