Clinical Modules

Clinical modules

The initial package contains one dependency and release unit with explicit module boundaries:

  • Common: patient, effective time, performer, FDI position, and tooth surface.
  • Restorative and endodontic: tooth presence, caries, restoration, prosthetic, pulp, apical, root, wear, fracture, contact, and extraction findings.
  • Periodontal and peri-implant: site measurements, indices, gingival findings, method-qualified gingival phenotype, Miller or Cairo recession classification, 2017 periodontitis stage/grade/extent, furcation, mobility, implant focus, and assessment results.
  • Orthodontic and model analysis: tooth position, occlusion, appliances, retention, crowding, and measured model-analysis results.
  • Cephalometry: imaging-derived measurements, landmarks, norms, and analyses.

Lossless chart exchange

Performed work uses Dental Procedure, retained appliances and prosthetic components use Dental Device, and proposed work uses explicit requests within a care plan. Dental Risk Evidence carries cigarettes per day, periodontitis- attributed tooth loss, and imaging-derived maximum bone loss. Dental Clinical Provenance distinguishes derived results from explicit clinician selection.

Dental Chart State is the compatibility seam for an exact charted distinction that is not retained by those resources, such as an unqualified legacy category. Its properties are domain concepts rather than source-application field names. Producers emit it alongside the truthful clinical carrier and consumers use it for exact roundtrip only; they must not infer that a Procedure was performed merely from a chart-state component.

These are authoring modules, not separate packages in 0.2.0. They may be split later without changing the clinical meaning or canonical identity of released artifacts.
