Dental Core defines country-neutral FHIR R4 clinical contracts for dental and odontogram exchange. It separates clinical observations and devices from national billing, insurance, practice-management, and transport workflows.
The guide is designed as the clinical dependency of national composition guides. A German composition can depend on both Dental Core and a German practice guide without making either concern part of this package.
The contract follows three rules:
The machine-checkable inventory covers the complete current odontogram document, including tooth records, periodontal case evidence, examination identity, and dated snapshots. Every serialized clinical value has a truthful FHIR resource carrier and a lossless exact-value path. When a performed procedure, device, request, condition, or provenance record does not preserve a legacy chart distinction, Dental Chart State supplements that resource with vendor-neutral property and result codes. It is never the sole substitute for the clinical resource.
